Don’t just go to work, make a difference! ICCOA is seeking a passionate, committed Nutrition Program Director to lead our Home Delivered Meals and Congregate Meals Programs.
This full-time, salaried position is so much more than a job, it helps seniors throughout Ionia County remain in their own homes and maintain their independence.
The Ionia County COA Nutrition Program Director:
- Supervises a team of cooks, site hosts and nutrition program drivers; providing leadership, guidance and training (total FTE appx 8).
- Works directly with clients and care partners on new service requests and changes, works with caseworkers to assure qualification for services.
- Prepares monthly reimbursement reports for funding sources, processes monthly billing for agency-contracted and private-pay services, distributes monthly donation requests, for nutrition services.
- Develops, maintains and oversees nutritional SOPs that support food safety, client satisfaction and balanced dietary practices.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards and procedures. Maintains documentation required by licensing and funding sources, in adherence with agency guidelines.
- Plans/oversees menus, ordering of supplies and food; checks/reviews meal preparation and kitchen operations; follows state and other requirements for Nutrition Services Programs/Operating Standards.
- Is a great communicator who enjoys working with ICCOA colleagues, clients, funding source contacts, vendors, and licensing authorities.
- Is a team player that collaborates with colleagues to deliver on overall agency goals.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in food service supervision, or related field, plus one or two years relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification required or must obtain prior to hire. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
- Strong computer skills required: ability to use common (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and special agency/program software applications, manage files and folders, create and manage calendars, use of internet for research and collaborate on projects using communication tools, able to troubleshoot own minor technical issues.
- Knowledge and experience with Cycle Menu Management, menu planning, nutrition education, preferably in a residential, school or healthcare setting, is a big plus.
